So here I am writing my first blog. The irony is that I don't like blogs. However, it seemed an appropriate vehicle in this case.
I would like to say that I'm very excited about the possibilities for this web site. There are lots of cliques within SEIU 503. They often use e-mail, or set up other means for their own communications. I certainly hope they will participate on this site. Even more exciting is that there is now a place where everyone can come together and participate in discussions and tracking news related to SEIU 503. That level of interactivity does not exist elsewhere.
I also plan to send out personal invitations to our leadership to vist and participate on the site. I hope they'll take the opportunity to connect with the people they represent.
And now for a random musing:
President DiNicola stated in court that he doesn't work for the Union. If that's true, why is he listed in the staff directory on the SEIU 503 web site? Doesn't the staff work for the union? Leslie Frane, the Executive Director and an elected officer, is also listed; I've never heard her claim that she doesn't work for the union. I'm sure the listing was just an oversite, but you should really pay attention to details when you make such claims.
Welcome again to our new community.
Scott
